Hygge Spiritual Practice: Candle Meditation

"Now take your attention to the candle flame…draw in a long, slow breath through your nose… as you slowly breathe out through your nose let the busyness of your day drop away and let go of all worries that may have been troubling you...
Now just allow the breath to come, and to go as it will,…
keeping your focus on the candle flame."

Just lighting a candle can be both hygge & spiritual, so can easily become a part of a hygge spiritual practice. A ritual is just a series of steps that have meaning & are connected in some way.

So even for a few minutes, gazing at your candle can give you a moment of spiritual practice even if, right after that moment, you go back to reading a book or watching a movie.

It can be very soothing to breathe deeply and watch the flickering of a candle flame. Want to try it right now? Watch the video below..

See you next time!

love, Jeanine

The only time I entertain lit candles is when Dominion Power has none.

I've always found candles to be beautiful, relaxing, and captivating. The flame dances and easily captures attention. The lower light gives a soft glow to the room its in and definitely creates a relaxing, calm environment. I love candles with a warm scent in the winter and soft, floral or citrus scents in the summer.

I was thinking about lighting a candle earlier today. I didn't do it yet, though. And I love the feeling watching a candle flame for a few seconds gives me. So I am now going to go light a candle before I write.

Candles and hot tea, such a relaxing combination. I have candles that are battery operated and the wick flickers just like a real candle!

I love to watch the flickering flame on a candle, especially an aromatic candle. But, because I'm deeply fire-phobic, I never light candles. I appreciate the candles when someone else lights them!
